Thank you for visiting the Maine Medal Finals website.   We regret to announce that the Finals’ Show Committee has decided to suspend the Maine Medals program for the 2009 show season.  A variety of reasons have factored into making this difficult decision.  Our most recent venue, while desirable in so many ways, is limited as a show facility, especially for an event the size of the Maine Medal Finals.  The result is inadequate schooling space, parking and overnight stabling.  Scheduling conflicts with other regional finals and show series have also played a role in our decision.

 We thank everyone who has supported the program over these past 12 years.  It has been our pleasure to provide a venue for fine riding, good sportsmanship and camaraderie among the horsemen of New England.  The Show Committee will explore ways to restructure our program so that we may offer it again in the years to come.

 In the interim, you may wish to consider a new program based in Maine to be known as the Downeast Hunter/Jumper Equitation Finals.   The Downeast Finals will be a two-day show running September 18-20th, 2009 at the Skowhegan Fairgrounds in Skowhegan, Maine.  The Equitation Finals are open to riders who qualify for the show in divisions that largely resemble those of the Maine Medal Finals program plus a new walk-trot poles division.  Please contact Bray Anderson at Moon Run Farm (207) 490-1335 or Paulajean O’Neill at New Boston Farm (207) 657-3274 for further information about the Downeast Hunter/Jumper Equitation Finals.
